Velcro: seems difficult, is deceivingly easy. Just do not, I repeat, do not make the mistake of purchasing adhesive or sticky Velcro as this will gunk up your machine and needle.
Cut out however large you need your Velcro, cut this size from both sides of the Velcro
Fun fact: Velcro is fastened through a hook and loop fastener; one side is called the hook and the other called the hoop.
Place the first Velcro piece where you want it and sew. I set my stitch length a little longer, to about 3/3.5 mm, then stitch along the edges of the Velcro. Complete the same for the other side.
