Lettuce hems are much simpler than they look! They are very easy and can be done on a regular sewing machine. All you need is a sewing machine, a sewing needle and thread, stretch fabric and two hands!

To start, set your machine to a zig zag stitch. I set the stitch width to 3.5mm and the length to 1.4mm
Place your stretch fabric underneath the machine so that the zig zag stitch will just sew over the edge.
You can leave the edge raw or let it roll up as you sew.
Now start sewing, and here’s where you make the lettuce hem a lettuce hem! With one hand pull the fabric from behind back, and with your other hand pull the fabric in-front towards you.
Go all the way around the fabric and you should end up with an awesome lettuce hem!
